Rebuilding Together Valley of the Sun is looking for qualifying low-income, elderly and/or permanently disabled homeowners valleywide whose one-story homes need exterior painting and volunteer teams to do the work for the annual Rock & Roll Paint-A-Thon on Saturday, Oct. 23. The Paint-A-Thon is Rebuilding Togethers largest community service program with more than 3,000 volunteers working each year in neighborhoods across metropolitan Phoenix. To qualify, applicants must own and live in the homes and provide proof of income. Application deadline is Sept. 1.  Applications for both homeowners and volunteers are available by visiting www.rebuildingtogetherphx.org/programs-events/pat/ or calling (480) 774-0237.
Rebuilding Together provides all paint, paint supplies, t-shirts (up to 25 per team) and insurance for the day to teams of volunteers from families, businesses, churches, schools, social service organizations and civic groups.  Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age and those under 18 need a signed parental permission form.  Teams should be between 15 and 25 volunteers.
